Chutes Shaft: "Waste or linen chutes shall be 24" in diameter, 16 U.S Gauge Aluminized Steel, fully factory assembled with all vertical seams lapped and welded, and all horizontal seams slip joined. Provide steel angle frames at all floors and one expansion slip joined per floor. Chutes to have 1/2" flushing spray head and 1/2" IPS 165 deg. Sprinkler heads at top intake, additional sprinklers at alternated floors below."
Intakes: "Provide ** U.L. "B" Label fire rated intake doors."
** 12" x 15"; 15" x 18"; 18" x 18": Bottom hinged for trash chutes
** 18" x 18"; 20" x 20"; 24" x 24": Side hinged for linen chutes
Discharge Doors (Optional): "Provide ** appropriated outlet."
** "S" Type: Standard sliding discharge door for trash chutes.
** "SB" Type: "B" construction type discharge door for linen chutes.
** "TH" Type: Hopper-Top hinged discharge door for linen chutes.
** "O" Open End: When a door is not required, the chute is connected directly into a compactor by a transition.
Top Venting:
"Chute shall extend full size at least 4ft. above roof of the building. The chute shall be open to the atmosphere, provide ** explosion type venting."
** "V" Type Roof Vent: 18" to 60" height (48" Std.) full diameter explosion vent, with top cap bird screen and flashing.
** "L" Type Louver Vent: 24" x 24" thru side wall explosion louver vent, with bird screen and transition box.
